The National Student Financial Aid Scheme (NSFAS) has formally opened the 2025 application system.
Applications are actually open and may close on fifteen December 2024.
*** Who qualifies for NSFAS funding
To qualify for NSFAS funding, an applicant must satisfy the subsequent criteria:
• Be considered a South African citizen or copyright who originates from a house that has a combined gross domestic earnings that doesn't exceed R350 000 for every annum.
• People with disabilities qualify if their combined home profits will not exceed R600 000 per annum.
• SASSA recipients instantly qualify for funding and need not submit any proof of earnings.
*** Loan Scheme for the Missing Middle
The NSFAS Loan Scheme for the missing middle is open up to all South African citizens and permanent residents from households with combined R350 here 000 and R600 000 for each annum.

NSFAS only funds individuals who are learning or intend to research in a general public university or TVET college in South Africa.
